During this podcast, the ISM's Fiore and Nieves offered up their respective overviews of the manufacturing- and services-based economies, with a close eye on the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic on the sectors.

Other topics covered over the course of this podcast included: the biggest challenges presented by the pandemic; what the key headwinds and tailwinds for each sector are; and what may be expected for both sectors in a post-pandemic world.

In his “day job,”Fiore is a senior vice-president Chief Procurement Officer for Ryder System in Miami. He has held executive roles, in supply chain, materials handling and purchasing and procurement, at various companies throughout his career, including Pratt & Whitney and ThyssenKrupp NA, among others.

Nieves serves as the Chief Executive Officerof a Home Health Agency—Five Star Home Health, Inc. a leading home health care agency in Southern California, which provides comprehensive medical care and support for patients with chronic diseases and post-acute care needs.

He also is the Principal of Convergence Investments, LLC—a diverse investment strategy company with a concentration in the services sector. Included in this are supply management consulting, healthcare and hospitality management. Nieves previously served as Chief Procurement Officer and Senior Vice President of Supply Management for Hilton Worldwide.
