The national average price per gallon of diesel, for the week of August 8—at $4.993—fell 14.5 cents annually, following declines of 13 cents, for the week of August 1, and 16.4 cents, for the week of July 25, which represents the steepest annual decline going back to the week of October 27, 2008, when it fell 19.4 cents, to $3.288.

The national average price per gallon for diesel—at $5.138—dropped 13 cents, coming on the heels of a 16.4-cent decrease, for the week of July 25, to $5.268 per gallon, the steepest annual decline going back to the week of October 27, 2008, when it fell 19.4 cents, to $3.288.

The national diesel average—at $5.432 per gallon—saw a 13.6-cent decrease, its steepest decline going back to the week of December 22, 2014, when the national average fell 13.8 cents to $3.281 per gallon.

The national average—at $5.568—fell 10.7 cents below the week of July 4, which came in at $5.675. And that decline was in line with a 10.8-cent decline, from the week of June 27, which was at $5.783. The decline from the week of June 20—at $5.81—to the week of June 27, was less significant, down 2.7 cents.

The national average for the national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline came in at $5.718 per gallon, according to data published this week by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The weekly national average—at $5.703—climbed 16.4 cents over the $5.539 average, for the week of May 30, which was down 3.2 cents compared to May 23, at $5.571. The week of May 16 came in at $5.613, and the week of May 9 came in at $5.623, which was the previous high, for the national weekly average prior to this week’s tally.

Coming in at $5.134 per gallon, the national average fell $0.116 cents below the all-time high set, for the week of March 14, at $5.250 per gallon. These are the only two weeks to eclipse the $5 per gallon mark as per EIA data.

Another week brings another new record high for the average price per gallon of diesel gasoline. That was made clear in data issued this week by the United States Energy Information Administration (EIA), which showed that the national diesel average, for the week of March 14, set a new record and topped the $5 per gallon mark, for the first time ever, coming in at $5.250 per gallon.

The national average, for the week of March 7, came in at $4.849 per gallon, a new high, according to EIA data, topping the previous record, of $4.764, which was set the week of July 14, 2008.
