Get your rest for the CSCMP Annual Conference

By this time next week, I will be very tired. Why? Because I will be recovering from the hustle and bustle of theCouncil of Supply Chain Management Professionals(CSCMP) Annual Conference, which is in Atlanta this year.

OK, recovering may be a tad strong, but it truly is a whirlwind of an event—for good reason. Between the myriad sessions, educational offerings, tours, and networking, it is safe to say there is never a dull moment, especially on the two full days of CSCMP, Monday and Tuesday.

I know I have written this before so I offer apologies in advance: there really is something for everyone at this event. New to the industry? No problem, there are sessions designed for you? Been in the industry for years or decades even? Well, there are sessions that fit your needs and objectives, too.

As I have previously stated in this space, I have attended CSCMP over the last several years, and it is fair to say I never come home disappointed, as I come back replete with new sources, good story leads, and ideas. In that sense, it is somewhat of an editorial goldmine.

What’s more, with roughly 30 session tracks and a trade show floor that is getting better every year, there is more than enough ground to cover to say the least. An ongoing “concern” of mine every year is often “Do I attend this session or that session as they are both really interesting and relevant to my job?” While it is a tough decision at times, it is also a really good problem to have.

这个事件的另一个重要方面,不能be overlooked is the networking component. I mean, how often is it that you are in the same building with 3,000 or so other people that are also there to learn about supply chain, transportation logistics, technology, sustainability and a lot more?

That alone is worth the trip in my opinion. The ability to make new friends and contacts and reconnect with old ones is invaluable in my book and it can only help you down the road, too.

I think you get the idea. The CSCMP Annual Conference is a great trip in so many ways. But keep in mind it is also one that will leave you tired when it is time to go home so be sure to rest up this weekend.

LM looks forward to seeing you in Atlanta next week.
