After stating it would decrease COVID-19-Peak Surcharges from China mainland to the United States on October 4, global freight transportation and logistics services provider UPS said this week that those surcharges will be increasing, effective October 25. UPS originally stated its intention to implement COVID-19-related Peak Surcharges in late May.

With a sharp focus on meeting demand from its shipper customers in the technology, manufacturing, life sciences and healthcare sectors, DHL Global Forwarding, an air and ocean subsidiary of Deutsche Post DHL Group, said this week it has introduced an air freight charter that connects Asia Pacific to Europe and the United States, which will be a bi-weekly offering.

This expansion will occur across two different properties. One is its existing facility at 6800 Port Road in Groveport, which is located near the Rickenbacker International Airport, and the other is a property it is acquiring at 6700 Port Road. And Forward will invest around $10 million to acquire the latter and around $22 million into the former, which will be redeveloped into a 120,000 square-foot office space that will house the 50 newly created positions.
