ATRI heralds the launch of its annual Top Industry Issues Survey

The Washington, D.C.-based American Transportation Research Institute, more commonly known as ATRI, the trucking industry’s not for profit research organization, recently rolled out its annual Top Industry Issues for 2023.

ATRI said that this annual analysis, which is now in its 19^thyear, ranks industry issues overall, as well as provide insights into how critical topics are ranked differently by both motor carriers and professional drivers, while also allowing industry stakeholders to monitor trucking industry issues over time in order to gain a better understanding of which issues are rising, or falling, in criticality. In ranking these issues of concern for the trucking industry, respondents are also ranking potential strategies for addressing each issue.

“The annual Top Industry Issues Survey has long been a crucial part of understanding the challenges facing our country’s supply chain,” said ATA Chair Dan Van Alstine, Ruan Transportation Management Systems President and COO, in a statement.

“ATRI’s research provides an opportunity for thousands of trucking industry professionals, from drivers to executives, to weigh in on the most important topics that affect trucking and collectively decide on the best strategies for addressing each.”

The ATRI survey examines various trucking industry issues, including: autonomous trucks; broker issues; CSA; detention/delay at customer facilities; driver retention and driver shortage; economy; ELD mandate; fuel prices; and HOS, among others.

ATRI said that the survey’s results will be made available on October 14, 2023, at the American Trucking Associations Management Conference & Exhibition in Austin, Texas.
